The "Package Tour" was created in the 60's & 70's just as air travel was becoming increasingly affordable to the majority of the British Public, most of whom were still totally unaccustomed to foreign travel.
Tour operators quickly sprang up, wrapping flights, accomodation and transfers from airport to hotel into one convenient "Package" for the inexperienced and travel nervous Brits. All at a premium of course.
Today, things have changed significantly and travel abroad is the norm for many. The "Package Tour" still has it's place of course and if that is what you are comfortable with and suits you, just let me know, I have access to exactly the same Holidays as any high street agent.
