- Check the passports of everyone in your party are valid before booking any travel arrangements.
- Ensure they are valid for at least six months beyond your anticipated return date. Many countries will not permit entry if your passport expires within six months of your proposed exit date.
- All children under 16 Yrs must have their own passport. (applications for a first passport now take upto six weeks)
- If your passport has expired or will expire within six months of your return date, allow a minimum of three weeks for renewal applications.
- Under exceptional circumstances passports can be issued at short notice. You will need to make an appointment in advance and attend at a passport office in person with the necessary documentation. Contact the helpline for advice.
VISAS
For the purpose of a holiday Visas are not necessarily always required. If in doubt please call me or contact the relevant Embassy of the countries that you intend visiting. A full list of all Foreign Embassies in the UK can be found here
If you intend visiting the USA and have a criminal conviction you will need a Visa.
As of September 2010 the US Government have introduced charges for travellers visiting the US under the Visa Waiver Program. Certain websites are now charging upto £30 for online application/completion.
Dont get caught out! You can apply for visa waiver direct via the US Customs & Border Protection website for just £9 (As at 26 Sept 2010)
