Before You Go -
There are plenty of websites that print a packing list for you, and everyone's needs are different. I find that many go into far too much detail or generalisation so I will leave you to decide what you would like to take. I have however put together a checklist of last minute things to do before you leave the house.
I've forgotten to do most of them at one time or another! and there is nothing worse than thinking that you've planned the perfect holiday only to find that you have forgotten to book kennels for your dog, particularly if you are going to be away over a Bank Holiday weekend! So, remember to book your pets holiday early!
My Last Minute Checklist
- Passports
- Visas (if applicable)
- Flight Tickets, Accomodation & Transfer Vouchers
- Travel Insurance Policy (or at least the policy number & tel no.s)
- Driving Licence (inc paper counterpart)
- Non essential electrical appliances switched off & unplugged
- House Keys (with you, friends or neighbours)Windows/Doors secured (I've driven up the road and left the front door open!)
If you forget everything else but remember these, you should still be ok to travel and avoid arriving at the airport, hotel or back home to a nasty surprise. If you do forget anything else, it can probably be bought at the airport or on holiday (Copy, paste and print the list if you wish)

PS. Some extra tips you may find useful:
- Use miniature shampoos etc on your journey. They are compact, lightweight, and enough to get you to your destination.
- If travelling with your partner, pack some essentials in each others case. If a case goes missing in transit you will at least have something!
- Don't pack valuables in your suitcases, keep them with you if your hand luggage allowance permits.
